Live Events App for Free Activities Near You
There is even more technology that allows you to find free or cheap events and activities at the click of a button!
As a follow up to my last blog post, I wanted to talk about another app that offers easy access to live music and other events that make it easy and accessible to find things to do. The app Eventbrite was started locally in San Francisco and has been around for about fifteen years. It is personally one of my favorite apps to purchase tickets through. Upon downloading the Eventbrite app, you have the option to create an account. I would recommend creating one because it is super easy to do and once you do, all your past tickets are saved on your account and are easy to access. You then choose your location and automatically it pulls up a list of events around that area. Compared to my last post about the app Sofar Sounds, there are less free events listed on Eventbrite, but they definitely are still there. The great thing about Eventbrite is that if the event is free, directly on the picture used for the listing it says "Free" before you click on it. At least for San Francisco, you can pretty commonly find free events listed under the "Food and Drink Events" section.

Or, if you're looking for strictly free events you can scroll down to the "Free events" section.
The free events typically consist of everything from comedy shows to art events to other talks and speeches that are being given.
Another plus side to this app is that once you purchase tickets or RSVP to an event, the tickets are automatically saved to your account on the app and it is incredibly easy to access them. At events where you purchase tickets through Eventbrite, all you have to do is show the QR code that is on your mobile ticket and you are good to go! You can even add the tickets to your Apple wallet (if you have an iPhone) and pull them up that way.
Overall this is a great app to find local and free events in your area that are other than just concerts or other live music events. If you would rather not download the app you can just browse the website which is set up in a very user-friendly way as well! The link is posted below. Underneath it is the link to download the app if you wish.
